Overview of the Course Structure

This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of nail technology, including nail anatomy and physiology, manicuring, pedicuring, nail extensions, nail art, and salon management. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on practice, students will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed as licensed nail technicians.

 

Course Objectives:

  • Understand nail anatomy and physiology
  • Perform manicures and pedicures
  • Apply nail extensions using acrylic method techniques
  • Create nail art designs using a variety of tools and materials
  • Demonstrate knowledge of proper sanitation and safety techniques
  • Develop customer service skills
  • Learn the basics of salon management

 

Module 1: Infection & Control

  • Proper sanitation and disinfection techniques
  • Safety regulations and guidelines
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Blood-borne pathogen training


Module 2: Nail Anatomy

  • Introduction to nail anatomy
  • Nail growth and development
  • Nail disorders


Module 3: Manicures

  • Introduction to manicuring
  • Nail shaping and filing
  • Cuticle care and removal

 

 

 Module 4: Polishing


Module 5:Pediucures

  • Introduction to Pedicures
  • Steps for a pedicure

Module 6 : Product Knowledge

  • Product Chemistry/Knowledge
  • Protecting Yourself 

Module 7 : Acrylics

  • Acrylic Chemistry
  • Acrylic Zoning
  • Liquid to Powder Ratio
  • Nail preparation and application
  • Shaping 1&2


Module 8: Portfolio

You are required at the end of this class to have a total of 180 credit hours  from which 40 of them will be deducted for class time which would give a remainder of 140 hrs. These credit hours will consist of

  • ·     Manicure / Pedicure : 15 sets of a combination of both totaling 46hrs
  • ·     Acrylic FulLsets: 15 sets totaling 46 hrs
  • ·     Acrylic Fullsets and Polished toes : 15 sets totaling 46 hrs


Proof of these will be submitted at the end of this course in portfolio fashion.

 Assessment:

Students will be evaluated based on their performance on both theoretical exams throughout the course. In addition, students will be required to have certain number of supervised practice hours in order to graduate and be certified

 

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for this course. Students must be at least 18 YEARS enroll.
